2 As they wandered about in the East, they came to a plain in Babylonia and settled there. 3 They said to one another, “Come on! Let’s make bricks and bake them hard.” So they had bricks to build with and tar to hold them together. 4 They said, “Now let’s build a city with a tower that reaches the sky, so that we can make a name for ourselves and not be scattered all over the earth.”  5 Then the Lord came down to see the city and the tower which they had built, 6 and he said, “Now then, these are all one people and they speak one language; this is just the beginning of what they are going to do. Soon they will be able to do anything they want!  Genesis 11:2-6 GNT

So we built the wall and the whole wall was joined together to half its height, for the people had a mind to work.  Nehemiah 4:6 NASB

30 Caleb told the people to be quiet and listen to Moses. Caleb said, “Let’s go now and take possession of the land. We should be more than able to conquer it.”  31 But the men who had gone with him said, “We can’t attack those people! They’re too strong for us!” 32 So they began to spread lies among the Israelites about the land they had explored. They said, “The land we explored is one that devours those who live there. All the people we saw there are very tall. 33 We saw Nephilim there. (The descendants of Anak are Nephilim.) We felt as small as grasshoppers, and that’s how we must have looked to them.”  Numbers 13:30-33 GWT

To Go Beyond In Your Thinking:

1).  Lose YOUR Mind

Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: Philippians 2:5 KJV

And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.  Romans 12:2 KJV

Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but be a new and different person with a fresh newness in all you do and think. Romans 12:2A TLB

I will give thanks to you because I have been so amazingly and miraculously made. Your works are miraculous, and my soul is fully aware of this.  Psalms 139:14 GWT

Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but be a new and different person with a fresh newness in all you do and think. Romans 12:2A TLB

To Go Beyond In Your Thinking:

2).  Shift Your Thought Pattern

“Be careful how you think; your life is shaped by your thoughts.”  Proverbs 4:23 GNT

SHIFT

  • to exchange for or replace by another

THOUGHT PATTERN

  • a habit of thinking in a particular way or making certain assumptions, usually positive or negative

Two Mental Laws Of Psychology

The Law of Concentration states that whatever we dwell upon grows in our life experience.

For as he thinks within himself, so he is.  Proverbs 23:7A NASB

The Law of Substitution states that our conscience mind can only hold one thought at a time.

Thought Pattern

a habit of thinking in a particular way or making certain assumptions, either positive or negative

For the thing which I greatly feared is come upon me, and that which I was afraid of is come unto me. Job 3:25 KJV

Moaning and groaning are my food and drink, 25 and my worst fears have all come true. 26 I have no peace or rest—only troubles and worries.  Job 3:24-26 CEV

1).  Grab It Before It’s Planted

4 (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) 5 Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;  2 Corinthians 10:3-5 KJV

2).  Pull Up & Replant

Everything that happens in this world happens at the time God chooses.  He sets the time for birth and the time for death, the time for planting and the time for pulling up.  Ecclesiastes 3:1-2 GNT

Summing it all up, friends, I’d say you’ll do best by filling your minds and meditating on things true, noble, reputable, authentic, compelling, gracious—the best, not the worst; the beautiful, not the ugly; things to praise, not things to curse. Put into practice what you learned from me, what you heard and saw and realized. Do that, and God, who makes everything work together, will work you into his most excellent harmonies. Philippians 4:8-9 Message
