FAITHuary – The Pleasure Principle

For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.  James 2:26 NKJV

(Even Jesus’ brothers did not believe in him.) John 7:5 NCV

When his friends heard what was happening, they came to try to take him home with them.  “He’s out of his mind,” they said.  Mark 3:21 TLB

No one can please God without faith, Hebrews 11:6A GNT

Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.  Revelations 4:11 KJV

The person who has God’s approval will live by faith.  But if he turns back, I will not be pleased with him.”  Hebrews 10:38 NIV

The Good News tells us we are made right with God by faith in Him. Then, by faith we live that new life through Him. The Holy Writings say, “A man right with God lives by faith.”  Romans 1:17 NLV

God Pleasing Faith Produces Confidence

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not seen.  Hebrews 11:1 KJV

2 Through Christ we can approach God and stand in his favor. So we brag because of our confidence that we will receive glory from God. 3 But that’s not all. We also brag when we are suffering. We know that suffering creates endurance, 4 endurance creates character, and character creates confidenceRomans 5:2-4 AMP

35 So do not throw away your confidence; it will be richly rewarded. 36 You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what he has promised. Hebrews 13:6 NIV

For I am confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus. Philippians 1:6 NASB

God Pleasing Faith Gives Us The Ability To Look Beyond What We See

The earth was barren, with no form of life; it was under a roaring ocean covered with darkness. But the Spirit of God was moving over the water.  Genesis 1:2 CEV

Children, you belong to God, and you have defeated these enemies. God’s Spirit is in you and is more powerful than the one who is in the world. 1 John 4:4 CEV

God Pleasing Faith Keeps Me Worshipping

4 It was faith that made Abel offer to God a better sacrifice than Cain’s.  Hebrews 11:4A NIV

I would have fainted, unless I had believed to see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living.  Psalms 27:13 King James 2000 Bible

God Pleasing Faith Releases My Reward

6 No one can please God without faith, for whoever comes to God must have faith that God exists and rewards those who seek him.  Hebrews 11:6 GNT

28 When He entered the house, the blind men came up to Him, and Jesus said to them, “Do you believe that I am able to do this?” They said to Him, “Yes, Lord.” 29 Then He touched their eyes, saying, “It shall be done to you according to your faith.” 30 And their eyes were opened.
